How to Add a Hard Drive to an Xbox

The Xbox 360 is capable of saving game progress, movies, episodes of television shows and music to a hard drive. It is advisable to take advantage of this capability the game system has. Not only can you save to the hard drive, but you also can switch it to other Xbox 360 systems to share. Not all Xbox 360 packages come with hard drives to install, and even the ones that do may require you to put the hard drive in yourself.

     Power down your Xbox 360 system. Remove the power cable from the back of the system.

     Remove the hard drive bay cover from the top of the Xbox 360 system by pressing the button at the front of the bay down and pulling the cover off.

     Place the thick end of the Xbox 360 hard drive into the back of the hard drive bay. Push down the thin end into the front of the bay to lock it in place.
