How to Network Stream an iMac to an Xbox 360 With Linksys

The Xbox 360 has the ability to stream movies, music and photos from a computer to the television. In order to do this, though, the user needs to be running a version of Microsoft Windows that includes the Windows Media Center application. Unfortunately for Mac users, there is no native way of streaming media via your Linksys wireless network to your Xbox in the living room. A few applications have sprung up to fill this hole, making the process extremely simple.

Navigate to the “Video” tab within the Xbox dashboard and select the Mac media server. It will be named after your iMac’s computer name. You can browse through the folders on your iMac, and select the video (or music, pictures) to stream over the Linksys network. Once selected, the desired media will begin playback on the television.
