How to Use an iPod As an Xbox 360 Hard Drive

Microsoft&'s Xbox 360 consoles can use USB memory devices as hard drives to store gamers&' data, including saves, movies, and other system information. Using an iPod with your Xbox 360 to store game data is easy with the console&'s main menu or "Dashboard." The Dashboard will reformat the iPod to be used with an Xbox 360 as a hard drive. Reformatting will erase all data on the iPod.

      Plug in your iPod to the front of the Xbox 360 via a USB cable. Turn on the console, and allow the main menu or "Dashboard" to load.

      Use the analog stick to move to the right, and select the "System" tab in the dashboard. Press "A" and select "Memory." Select "USB Devices," and press "A."

      Select "Format Device," and press "A" again. The Xbox 360 will format the iPod for use as a hard drive with the console. The iPod and Xbox 360 will be ready for use together as soon as formatting is complete.
