The Xbox 360 video game system stores temporary files, such as game updates and avatar pictures, in a system cache folder. It is possible to delete this cache through the Xbox "Dashboard." Deleting the system cache can allow you to play older versions of games when a game update has had a negative effect on your enjoyment of a game. It is also useful as a troubleshooting tool when attempting to resolve Xbox 360 software issues.
