Things You'll Need
Instructions
Connect one end of a SATA cable to your computer and the other end to the Xbox&'s SATA port (found underneath the Xbox DVD drive), once the Xbox 360 has been opened up and the plastic case on the console has been removed. Do not use a SATA cable from an existing hardware device inside your PC, as this will cause the computer to not boot up properly. The SATA connection allows you to transfer/copy data between the PC and the Xbox 360.
Power on the computer and run your web browser of choice. Download the free EEMPROM application JungleFlasher and install the program to the computer. As of July 2010, JungleFlasher is the only program capable of saving the EEMPROM and extracting the Xbox 360 HDD key from within the Windows operating system. Earlier programs utilized MS-DOS to perform EEMPROM tasks, but these programs were prone to crashing. Run JungleFlasher and choose the 360&'s motherboard from the program&'s main menu. Click "Copy EEMPROM" and select "OK." JungleFlasher will read the Xbox 360&'s EEMPROM to the PC. JungleFlasher will present your Xbox 360&'s HDD key contained within the EEMPROM in the program&'s main menu.
Unplug your SATA cable from the console and return all screws before putting the plastic case back on the Xbox 360 . Do not power on the console again until all internal components are returned to their original positions and the case is put back on the machine.
