How to Transfer Data From XBox to XBox

The Xbox 360 high-def video game console does not have built-in memory to save any data such as games or media. Instead, the console relies on three different types of external storage units: the hard drive, USB flash drive and memory stick. Each device can transfer data from one to the other. This allows gamers to transport data from one Xbox storage device to another.

Instructions

    • 1

Plug in the storage device to the console where you are transferring data. Keep in mind that the Xbox 360 receiving the data must have its own storage device.

    • 2

      Access the console&'s dashboard.

    • 3

      Navigate to "My Xbox."

    • 4

Go to "System Settings" by scrolling all the way to the right in the "My Xbox" section.

    • 5

Select "Memory" from the list of options. A list of connected storage devices appears.

    • 6

Choose the device from which you are transferring data. An organized list of stored data on your selected storage device will appear.

    • 7

Locate the data you wish to transfer and select it. An options list will appear.

    • 8

Choose "Copy" or "Move" from the options list. Copying doesn&'t delete the data off your storage device while "Move" transfers the data off the device and onto the other. Either action directs you to a storage device selection screen.

    • 9

Choose the storage device where you are transferring the data.
