How to Copy Music From a PC to an Xbox 360

The Microsoft Xbox 360, much like the other seventh-generation home gaming consoles, has the ability to store music files on its hard drive and play the files at the request of the user. However, the only method for placing music files on your Xbox 360 hard drive is currently by ripping the music files from a music CD. Therefore, if you want to copy music from your PC to your Xbox 360, you will need to use a CD as an intermediary device.

  • PC (with CD burning software)
  • Blank CD

Instructions

      Insert a blank CD into your PC and begin your CD-burning program.

      Select the songs you would like to burn to your CD and select the "Burn" or "Make CD" option to begin making the CD. Make sure you choose the make a music CD and not an MP3 CD, since the Xbox 360 will only rip music CDs.

      Remove the music CD from the PC after the burning process has completed.

      Turn your Xbox on, and insert the music CD into the disc drive. This will automatically start the music player.

      Select the "Rip CD" option in order to copy the files from the music CD to the Xbox 360&'s hard drive.
