Things You'll Need
Instructions
Extensive Use
Relocate your Xbox 360 to a confined, humid area, and make sure that it is laying down and not standing upright, so that the system can&'t cool efficiently.
Wrap a towel around your Xbox 360. This will limit the amount of heat your Xbox 360 can give off, and will cause it to overheat quicker than it normally would during heavy use.
Plug as many devices as you can into the USB ports. These devices, in combination with playing the GPU-intensive video game for an extended period of time, will cause the CPU to overheat.
Check the System Settings to make sure that any screen saver or energy-saver settings are turned off.
Find a game in your collection that is known to tax the graphics processing unit and central processing unit memory. Choose the newest game in your collection that is supposed to boast the latest and greatest graphics.
Play the game for as long as you can. When you can&'t play any longer, leave your Xbox 360 running with all of the USB devices still plugged into it and the towel still wrapped around it.
Continue playing the game when possible without shutting your Xbox 360 off or unplugging any devices for about one week. If the Red Ring of Death still has not appeared, briefly shut your Xbox 360 off, quickly restart it, and begin the process again. Eventually, your Xbox 360 should overheat, causing the Red Ring of Death to appear.
