Connecting Media
Insert a music CD into the Xbox 360 disc drive. Choose "Rip CD" and press the "A" button on your controller. Activate the check box next to the songs you want to add to the Xbox 360 hard drive. Highlight "Rip CD" and press the "A" button again to add these songs to the Xbox 360.
Connect a portable media player to the Xbox 360 using a USB cable. Press the Xbox button on your controller. Navigate to the "Media" button and choose "Music Library." Highlight the name of your portable media player and press the "A" button. Play songs from your player on your Xbox by choosing the song, genre, album or artist.

Playing Media
Press the Xbox button on your Xbox 360 controller. Select the "Media" tab and choose the type of media you want to play.

Press the Xbox button again to alter music you&'re listening to. Go to the "Media" tab and move the joystick down to the media player. Choose the pause button to pause the song. Choose the right arrow to move on to the next song or choose the shuffle button to shuffle the songs in your playlist.
Press the "A" button during video playback. Choose various controls to pause, play, fast-forward or rewind the video. Press the "B" button when finished to hide the video control panel.
Choose "My Xbox" from the main Xbox dashboard. Navigate to "Windows Media Center" and press the "A" button. Your Xbox will connect to the PC loaded with Windows Media Center. Choose Music, Video, Recorded TV and more to play the media from your PC through the Xbox 360 onto your TV.
