How to Copy or Transfer XBox 360 Hard Drive Data

The Xbox 360 offers multiple options when it comes to storage devices and data management. Data can be saved to the internal Xbox 360 memory (256 MB), the Xbox 360 hard drive, memory cards and USB flash drives. When any of these devices are connected to the Xbox, data can be copied or transfered. Premium data (such as games purchased from Xbox Live) cannot be transferred.

      Turn off the Xbox 360. Connect the Xbox 360 hard drive to the hard drive bay on the left side of the device. Connect the memory card or USB flash drive on which you&'re putting the data.

      Turn on the Xbox 360. After the dashboard loads, scroll to the "My Xbox" menu. Select "System Settings," then "Memory."

      Select "Hard Drive." Select the type of content you intend to transfer, such as videos or system items. Select the file you want to copy and Select "Copy." Select the device where you want to copy the file. The copy process will begin. If it&'s a saved game you&'re copying, you will be asked to sign in to the profile associated with the game.
