How to Use an Xbox 360 Memory Stick

The Xbox 360 memory unit allows players to transfer data between consoles and back up important game saves and downloads separate from the console&'s hard drive. This portability enables gamers to bring this data with them wherever they go in a pocket-size format that works with any original Xbox 360 console. When using an Xbox 360 memory unit, you have the option to move, copy and delete data from the device.

Instructions

      Slide the Xbox 360 memory unit firmly into the first or second memory unit port on the front of the console.

      Power on the Xbox 360 by pressing the "Guide" button at the center of any connected controller.

      Scroll to the "My Xbox" section of the dashboard (the console&'s main menu).

      Choose "System Settings."

      Choose "Memory."

      Select the memory device containing the data you want to alter. If you want to move or copy data from your Xbox 360&'s hard drive to the memory unit, select the hard drive. If you want to move, copy or delete data from the memory unit, select the memory unit.

      Choose the content type you want to manage.

      Choose the specific data, save or game file you want to manage.

      Choose to copy, move or delete the selected data. Copying or moving a file prompts you to select the memory device which you want that data transferred. Deletion prompts you to confirm that you want the data removed from the device permanently.
