How to Play AVI on an Xbox 360

Microsoft Xbox 360 is for more than just video games. The Xbox 360 is a full multimedia suite that allows users to view AVI files without converting the AVI files or doing anything special to them. These files play just like any other file on the Xbox 360. Being able to play these media files expands the capabilities of the Xbox 360 for people who are not gamers.

Instructions

      Plug a USB flash drive into your computer. Then transfer the AVI file you want to play on your Xbox 360 onto your flash drive.

      Turn on the Xbox 360 and connect a USB flash drive with the AVI file on it. The USB port is on the front of the Xbox 360 to the right of the large circle on the front.

      Select "My Xbox" from the Xbox 360&'s menu on the screen.

      Press down until you get to "Video Library." Press "X." The video library shows the USB drive. The name of the drive varies by the type of USB drive you use. Press "X" when you scroll over the USB drive on the screen.

      Select the AVI file you want to play and press "X" to begin the file.
