DIY Xbox VGA Cables

The Xbox comes with its own standard video cables to connect the Xbox to the television or other device for the television such as a DVR. If you do not have the cables, these can be purchased. The Xbox uses a special VGA cable because one ends needs to specifically plug into the Xbox; that end is formatted to fit only the Xbox. Once you connect the video cables, you will be able to see the Xbox images on your television screen.

Instructions

  Plug the Xbox side of the video cables into the Xbox. The Xbox side is the side with only one video prong and is rectangular.

  Plug the video side into your television. Match the colors of the cables to the color-coded jacks on the television. If you are plugging the Xbox through another device, plug these cables into the "Video In" part of that device.
- 3
  Connect the other device to the television if you are connecting the Xbox through another device instead of straight to the television set.
