How to Make a Turbo Controller

One of the most popular modifications you can perform on your Xbox 360 controllers is to add a turbo button. This comes in handy in many fighting and war games, where a rapid fire ability on your weapon can greatly increase your chances of success. This isn't a simple modification because it requires some knowledge of electronics and the disassembly of your controller. But you'll be pleased to find it is a fairly straightforward process.

Instructions

    • 1

Unplug your controller from the port in the front of your Xbox 360 and lay the controller face down on a sturdy work surface such as a desk or table.

    • 2

Unplug the rectangular battery pack from the middle of the back of the controller.

    • 3

Use your Phillips screwdriver to remove the six screws on the back of the controller and use your fingers to separate the back half of the controller from the front. Set the back half aside. The green circuit board, as well as the left and right plastic triggers, will be visible in the front half.

    • 4

Unfold your paperclip so one side is straight. Locate the hole near the top of either plastic trigger and insert the end of your paperclip into it. This trigger will now function as a turbo controller.

    • 5

Reassemble your controller in the reverse order you took it apart.
