Things You'll Need
Instructions
Select "My Xbox" from the main screen on the Xbox 360, then scroll to the right until you see "Windows Media Player." Click to select "Windows Media Player."
Select "Continue" on the Windows Media Player screen, and your Xbox will give you a code. Write this code down, as you will need it for the next steps.
Go to your Windows computer and click "Start," then "Programs," and then "Windows Media Center." You should see a pop-up message that asks you if you want to add your Xbox as an extender. If you do not see this message, click "Tasks," and "Add extender." Click "Next" at the bottom of the page to continue the process.
Enter the code that you received earlier when prompted, and click "Next."
Read about setting up your firewall settings, and when you are satisfied, click "Next." If you are unsure whether or not your firewall settings are correct, click "View online firewall help," which will open a guide that will walk you through properly setting up your firewall. If your firewall is not properly set up, your Xbox will not be able to connect to your computer.
Decide if you want the Xbox to have access to all of the media files on your computer, then click "Yes" or "No." It is recommended for you to pick "Yes," so that you will be able to watch or listen to all of your files. Your computer will now start connecting to your Xbox. This takes a few minutes.
Click "Finish" when prompted. Now you can access your media on your television through your Xbox.
