Grasp the outer edge of the Xbox disc and hold it so the shiny surface is facing outward. If you wish, you can insert your thumb in the center hole of the disc for a firmer grip . It is important that you avoid fingerprinting or smudging the shiny surface of the game disc.
Run cold faucet water over your disc. Hold your Xbox disc in the correct manner, and hold it under the running water. This will help wash away any loose debris that has accumulated on the disc.
Dampen a clean, soft cloth with water. A microfiber or eyeglass cloth will work best. Use the damp cloth to lightly wipe the Xbox 360 disc. Start at the center hole and work straight out, toward the edge of the disc. Do not use a circular motion when cleaning the Xbox disc.
Allow your Xbox 360 disc to air dry.
Apply a small dab of car wax to a new cloth. Again, the cloth should be clean and nonabrasive. Gently apply a thin layer of wax to the disc, again, starting from the inside and working out in straight lines.
Allow the wax to dry on the Xbox disc. After the wax has dried, use yet another clean, soft cloth to wipe the wax away. This polishes and protects the surface of your Xbox 360 disc.
Inspect your Xbox 360 disc after you’ve cleaned it. If you notice any scratches on the shiny surface of the disc, you may need to take further action. Apply a small amount of Brasso or baking soda toothpaste to a nonabrasive cloth and polish the disc from the center hole, out. Work gently and lightly. Pressing too hard may damage the disc. When you’re done removing the scratches, you should apply car wax, let it dry and then wipe the disc clean.
