Connecting a Conventional Xbox Headset
Locate the volume control dial on the wire leading from the headset. Turn the volume on the headset down by rotating the dial all the way to the left.
Plug the connector at the end of the headset wire into the expansion port located at the bottom of the Xbox game controller.
Place the headset on your head and adjust the microphone to a comfortable position approximately 1 inch away from your mouth and to the side (See Refence 1). You can also adjust the earpiece for a more comfortable fit.
Start your game or chat session and turn the volume dial to the right to increase the volume to the level that you prefer.
Connecting a Wireless Xbox Headset
Ensure your wireless Xbox headset is completely charged before you attempt to connect it. Use the AC power adapter and plug the headset into an electrical outlet for charging or a USB charging cable. If using a USB charging cable, plug the cable into the USB port on the Xbox and the other end into the headset. Then turn on your Xbox console. When the headset is done charging, the four lights on the headset will begin blinking simultaneously.
Turn the Xbox on when you’re ready to connect the fully charged headset. Simply press the power button.
Turn your wireless headset on by pressing the power button located on the side of the headset.
Locate the “Connect” button on your Xbox console. The button is on the front of the console, near the power button. Once you’ve found it, press and release the “Connect” button.
Locate the “Connect” button on your wireless headset. It can be found on the microphone extending from the earpiece. Press the “Connect” button and hold it for one to two seconds. Then release the button. This will automatically associate the headset with the first available controller quadrant.
