How to Mod an Xbox Controller

In many online multiplayer matches, especially those of first-person shooters, the player will the faster trigger finger will usually emerge victorious. Single-shot weapons, such as pistols or hunting rifles, require a trigger pull for every round fired but are usually much more powerful than their semi- or fully automatic counterparts. For this reason, a fast finger is essential to success. With practice, one of the simplest and cheapest Xbox controller modifications will increase your shooting speed to inhuman levels.

Instructions

    • 1

Position your paper clip along the length of the right trigger on your Xbox 360 controller. Your paper clip will extend a approximately half an inch below the end of the trigger.

    • 2

Secure the paper clip in place with a piece of electrical tape measuring 2 inches long. Position the tape across the trigger, following the contours of the controller for a tight fit.

    • 3

Cut away any excess tape with a pair of scissors.

    • 4

Turn on your Xbox 360 and enter a private match. Doing so will allow you to practice with your new controller modification without getting killed by other players.

    • 5

Place the tip of your middle finger on the exposed paper clip end. Place the tip of your pointer finger on the opposite paper clip end.

    • 6

Rapidly press down on the paper clip with your middle finger, followed by a quick press with your pointer finger. By alternating these two motions very rapidly, the paper clip will activate the trigger at speed much higher than usually possible with only one finger.

Practice transitioning your hand to the rapid-fire position during play. Once you master the switch, enter online play and dominate your opponents.
