XBox 360 Splitscreen Games List for 4 Players

Though the Xbox 360, like the original Xbox, offers controller ports for up to four players simultaneously, there are few games produced that take advantage of this feature. Because Microsoft makes a bulk of their money from Xbox Live sales, most of their video games rely heavily on this feature for sales and typically only offer two-player splitscreen for most games. Though you can play with almost endless players in the online arena, the list of games that offer four-player splitscreen is slim.
  1. Halo 3

    • "Halo 3" is one of the few games that use four-player splitscreen in both multiplayer and online modes. "Halo 3" is the third segment in the Halo saga and the first for the Xbox 360. "Halo 3" allows for four people to play splitscreen against one another or online with additional players.

    Castle Crashers

    • "Castle Crashers" is a side-scroller released for the Xbox Live Arcade as an exclusive download, though it is scheduled for release on the PlayStation network. "Castle Crashers" is a classic arcade-style hack-and-slash with up to four players at a time. "Castle Crashers" is similar to the classic arcade X-Men and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles games. Though it is a simple side-scrolling slasher, the game does offer additional elements found in RPGs, such as the ability to upgrade characters&' weapons and abilities.

    Rainbow Six: Vegas

    • "Rainbow Six: Vegas "allowed for four player co-op missions and terrorist hunts, making it one of the few first-person shooters with this feature for the Xbox 360. The feature was removed in the second release for campaign mode, though it was still available for terrorist hunting.

    Call of Duty 2

    • "Call of Duty 2" was released for the original Xbox and was rereleased with better graphics for the Xbox 360. Prior to the release of "Modern Warfare," the Call of Duty games offered a four-player multiplayer feature.

    Marvel Ultimate Alliance

    • "Marvel Ultimate Alliance" is another game that was released on both the original Xbox and the Xbox 360, and both games feature a four-player mode. Rather than splitscreen, the game plays from an aerial view that shows all four players on the same screen simultaneously.

Sonic and Sega All Star Racers

    • "Sonic and Sega All Star Racers" is a racing game similar to the Mario Kart series and is appropriate for all ages. It also offers four-player splitscreen with all of the classic Sega and Sonic cartoon characters, so friends can all play at once on the same television.
