How to Join Games in Saints Row 2

Released in the fall of 2008, "Saint’s Row 2" received both commercial and critical acclaim for its vast improvements over the first version. Among these features was the ability to play more competitive modes over Xbox Live and PlayStation Network. The game also features the ability to play through the entire game cooperatively with a friend or stranger. The game doesn’t support guests running on the same console, which, for some new to the online experience, has made joining matches on "Saints Row 2" slightly more difficult.

Instructions

Competitive Modes

  Start up your console and "Saints Row 2."

  Make sure you are connected to the Internet by pressing the “media button” on your Xbox 360 or PS3. On Xbox 360, your friends and messages will appear in the center screen. On PS3, a bar showing your Internet connection should be displayed in the corner.

  From the game’s menu, select “Multiplayer.”

  Choose the type of match you would like to play by selecting your preferences. This will help limit your search and get you into a match faster.
Cooperative Mode

  Start up your console and "Saints Row 2."

  Make sure you are connected to the Internet by pressing the “media button” on your Xbox 360 or PS3. On Xbox 360, your friends and messages will appear in the center screen. On PS3, a bar showing your Internet connection should be displayed in the corner.

  From the game’s menu, select “Co-op” and choose if you would like to play with a friend or a stranger. If you are playing with a stranger, skip to Step 5.

  Invite the friend you would like to invite from the list provided. Friends online or playing the game will appear at the top of the list.

  Choose the game you would like to load or start.
