Instructions

  1. Trouble Shooting

    • 1

Check the connection to your controller. The male end of the headphone should be firmly inserted into the female end of the jack on the bottom of your Xbox controller.

    • 2

Adjust the volume. There is a dial on your wire that allows you to adjust the volume level. Make sure the volume is not turned all the way down.

    • 3

Make sure the switch by the volume control has the microphone turned on and is not on mute, if you are having trouble communicating to other players. Also, double check the manual for your specific model. Some models require you to push a button while you speak.

    Loose Wiring Repairs

    • 4

Place your damaged XBox headset on your work surface. Carefully remove the foam cover that goes over the earpiece. The foam is delicate and can rip easily. Place it aside.

    • 5

Use the metal end of a flat head screwdriver to gently press in the three tabs that are holding the cover on the earpiece. The three tabs are spaced evenly around the earpiece and need to be pressed and slid towards the center of the earpiece. If you do not have a flat head screwdriver, you can use the any small metal object. Once all three tabs are pressed, remove the cover from the earpiece and set it aside.

    • 6

Remove the speaker inside of the earpiece. Turn the speaker over to inspect the wire connections to determine which wire is loose.

    • 7

Place the disconnected wire back against the connector. Use a soldering gun to reattach the wire. Follow your soldering gun&'s instructions for proper use. Place the speaker aside to allow it to cool.

    • 8

Reinsert the speaker into the earpiece. Place the cover for the earpiece back onto the three tabs and press it until it snaps back in place. Replace the foam cover, again being careful not to tear it.
