How to Save Xbox 360 Games to the Console

Installing a game to the Xbox 360&'s console allows you to load and play your game from the hard drive as opposed to directly from the disc. Benefits from saving a game directly to the hard drive include faster loading times and quieter console noise. Any Xbox 360 game can be saved to the hard drive provided suitable space is available. Full retail games usually require between 4 and 8GB of space.

      Insert the game disc into the Xbox 360&'s disc drive.

      Press the Guide Button on your Xbox 360 controller (the round, central button with the X on it) and select "Xbox Dashboard."

      In the "Xbox Dashboard," move to the "My Xbox" category. The game in the disc drive will be the first window in the category. Press the yellow "Y" button to access the game details.

      Select "Install Game" from the game details window by highlighting it and pressing the green "A" button. The game will begin installation and a "Percentage Complete" bar will track the installation&'s progress.
