How to Play Xbox Backups

Xbox 360 users can back up games by installing the game to the hard drive. You can then play the backup copy directly from the hard drive rather than using the game disc. But the original game disc is still necessary, due to an anti-piracy protection measure that requires the user to verify that he owns the game.

Instructions

      Turn on the Xbox 360 console. The Xbox Dashboard menu will appear.

      Insert the original game disc. Insert “Disc 1” for multi-disc games, such as “Final Fantasy XIII.”

      Scroll up to “My Xbox” in the Dashboard menu.

    • 4

      Press the “X” button to select the game. This will play the Xbox backup copy after the console verifies the original game disc is installed. The backup copy will not start if the game disc is not inserted.
