How to Copy an Xbox 360 Game to a Hard Disk

Games copied directly to the Xbox 360 hard drive often play quieter, faster and in some cases have their graphics enhanced. Most games can be copied to the Xbox 360 hard drive, and almost all Xbox 360s come equipped with a hard drive. Although you can install games directly onto your hard drive, you still must insert the game disc to play them.

Instructions

      Turn on your Xbox 360 and insert the disc of the game you wish to copy to your hard drive. Exit the game if the game begins to load.

      Navigate to "My Xbox."

      Highlight the game you wish to install to your hard drive and press "Y" on your controller.

      Click "Install to hard drive." A progress bar indicates when the installation is complete.
