How to Remove Scars in Fable

The Xbox 360 exclusive "Fable 2" video game added many innovations to the "Fable" series. Among the additions was the inclusion of scars on the player character. Rather than force players to restart at an earlier point when defeated in battle, "Fable 2" introduced the method of scarring the character's appearance whenever downed during a fight. As scars increase on a player character, inhabitants in the world will react in varying degrees of fear or disgust. The "Fable 2" downloadable add-on content "Knothole Island" introduces potions that can be purchased in the game and used to remove scars on the player character.

Instructions

  Turn on the Xbox 360. If your profile does not automatically connect to Xbox Live, press the Xbox guide button on the controller and select "Connect to Xbox Live."

  Navigate to "Game Marketplace" on the Xbox 360 dashboard menu. Select "Browse" from the "All Games" section and choose "Fable 2" from the list of games.

  Select "All Downloads," and choose "Fable 2---Knothole Island (Premium)" from the available content. There is also a free version of "Knothole Island," but you will not have access to the majority of the content without purchasing the premium edition.

  Choose "Confirm Download." If your Xbox Live account does not have the sufficient number of points to purchase "Knothole Island," you will be prompted to add points to your account, using either a credit card or Xbox Live points card. The premium edition of "Knothole Island" costs 800 Microsoft Points, the equivalent of $10. Once the purchase is confirmed, "Knothole Island" will be downloaded and installed automatically to your console.

  Insert the "Fable 2" disc into the Xbox console after the download has completed. If the content has downloaded and installed correctly, a new quest will be announced when you begin playing the game.

  Travel to Bowerstone Market, and visit the docks to meet Gordon. Accept Gordon's invitation to visit Knothole Island. The game will then transition to a loading screen while you are transported.

  Visit the Cosmetician's shop and speak to the shopkeeper. Purchase scar-vanishing potions from the shopkeeper. Scar-vanishing potions come in five sizes (puny, feeble, medium, strong and miracle), according to the degree of scar removal necessary. Once you purchase the potion, press "Start" on the controller to access your inventory. Select "Items" from the menu, followed by "Potions." Highlight the scar- vanishing potion you purchased, and press "A" to use the potion. Based on the level of the scar-vanishing potion you purchased, scars will be removed from your character.
