How to Transfer Music to an XBox 360 Hard Drive

Microsoft's Xbox 360 is a multifaceted video game console that allows you to enjoy music, movies and other media on your television. While you may play music on your console from connected USB devices such as computers, MP3 players and flash drives, you can only transfer music onto the console's hard drive by ripping a CD. Load your desired music CD into the 360's disc tray to get started.

     Turn on your Xbox 360. Insert your music CD into the disc tray. Wait for the Xbox Music Player to load.

     Select "Rip CD" from the displayed list of Music Player options. Deselect the checkboxes of any tracks you do not want to rip.

     Select "Rip CD" to initiate the music transfer from the CD to your Xbox 360 hard drive.
