How to Copy the Xbox 360 Game Disc

The Xbox 360 has a DVD drive that plays video games on DVD discs. You can make a copy of your legally owned Xbox game using a computer DVD copy program. No special skills or experience is needed, as the DVD copy program works equally as well with computer DVDs as Xbox game discs. There are a number of DVD copy programs that can be acquired at no cost, all of which operate in a similar manner to copy a Xbox 360 video game disc.

Instructions

  Download a DVD copy program to the desktop--for example, the free ImgBurn program or the Backup Creator program (see the links in Resources). Double-click on the file once it is downloaded. Follow the menu commands to install the program onto the PC's main hard drive. Restart the PC.

  Go to "Start" and "All Applications." Select the DVD copy program from the pop-up menu to run it.

  Press the "Eject" button on the front of the computer to eject the DVD drive's disc tray. Place the Xbox 360 video game disc onto the disc tray. Press the "Eject" button to close the disc tray.

  Select the DVD drive from the "Sources" or "From" drop-down menu on the DVD copy program's main screen.

  Click on the "Browse" or "*" button on the "To" or "Destination" icon on the DVD copy program's main screen.

  Navigate in the window that appears to the desktop. Click the "OK" button to close the window and return to the main screen.

  Select "4X" or "8X" depending upon the speed of the DVD drive, from the "Drive" or "Read Speed" drop-down menu on the DVD copy program's main screen.

  Click on the "Copy" or "Start" button at the bottom of the DVD copy program's main screen.

  Wait anywhere from about 20 minutes to three hours as a progress bar in a new window documents the progress of the copying of the Xbox 360 video game disc to the desktop. Quit the DVD copy program when the progress bar disappears and the main screen reappears.

  Press the "Eject" button on the front of the computer to eject the DVD drive's disc tray. Remove the Xbox 360 video game disc from the disc tray. Press the "Eject" button to close the disc tray.
