Instructions
Download the correct drivers for the Xbox 360 controller.
Be sure to select "Xbox 360 Controller for Windows" under the "Select Your Product" list. The wireless controller will not let you connect your headset to your PC.
Install the drivers you've just downloaded. Double-click the file, and follow the instructions that appear on screen.
Plug the 360 controller into a USB port on your computer.
Plug your 360 headset into the jacks on the controller.
The jacks are located on the edge of the controller facing you when holding it normally in both hands.
Open the "Audio" tab in the "Sounds and Audio Devices" control panel.
Open the "Start" menu, and navigate to "Settings," then "Control Panel," then "Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices," then "Sounds and Audio Devices." Click on the "Audio" tab in "Sounds and Audio Devices."
Under "Playback," select the sound card in your PC.
It may be selected automatically.
Under "Recording," choose "Xbox 360 Controller for Windows (headset)."
This step will tell your computer to listen for incoming audio signals from the microphone of the headset plugged in to the controller.
