How to Transfer Data Between XBox 360s

The Xbox 360 console has seen several revisions over the course of its lifetime. Each of these revisions has added features, such as HDMI outputs, and larger hard drives. If you have an Xbox LIVE account with game saves stored on an older hard drive, and you want to transfer them to your new console, you will need the Xbox 360 Hard Drive Transfer Kit to migrate your data.

Instructions

  Disconnect the hard drive from your new Xbox console. This will be your destination hard drive.

  Power on your old Xbox console with the source hard drive.

  Connect the transfer cable to the new hard drive.

  Connect the other end of the transfer cable to the USB port on the back of your old Xbox console.

  Insert the transfer disc that came with the transfer cable into your old Xbox 360. Confirm that you wish to transfer the data and it will be copied to your new hard drive. When finished, plug in your new hard drive into your new console and you will have full access to all of your old files.
