Turn off your Xbox 360 and unplug it from the power source. Remove the rectangular hard drive (labeled "HDD") from the side of the unit by pressing the circular hard drive release button down while simultaneously sliding it off the unit.
Pry the front plastic frame from the unit with your fingers by gripping it at the seam on the side of the Xbox and gently pulling it off.
Insert the tip of your screwdriver in one of the two square holes in the side panel of the unit and then gently pry up to pop the side panel out. Remove the side panel completely and set it aside. Repeat the process for the side panel on the other side of the unit.
Pop the four square tabs on the front panel of the unit with your fingers. Pop the five tabs on the back of the unit with the tip of your screwdriver.
Gently pry the top half of the Xbox from the bottom half with your fingers. The metal housing supporting the internal components of the Xbox will now be exposed.
Use your Phillips screwdriver to remove all of the screws on the metal housing. Then turn the Xbox over and remove the bottom frame of the Xbox from the housing. The internal components of the Xbox will now be exposed in the unit.
Lift the rectangular DVD drive out of the unit and unplug the two cables from the back of it.
