Things You'll Need
Instructions
Place your 360 controller face-down on a work surface and use your Phillips screwdriver to remove the seven screws from the holes on the back of the controller. Set the screws aside.
Use your fingers to gently pry the back half of the controller from the front. Set the back half aside and you will be left with the green circuit board and buttons in the front half of the controller.
Plug in your soldering iron and let it warm up. Then locate the four stock LED lights in the upper center of the controller circuit board, near the controller connector cable.
Grip the small LED lights with the tip of your tweezers and lightly touch the tip of your soldering iron to the bottom of the light. It should then release from the board. Repeat the process with the other three lights.
Pick up a blue replacement surface-mount LED light (available from any electronics store) with your tweezers and then solder the bottom of it to the circuit board. Repeat the process with the three other blue surface-mount LED lights.
Reassemble your controller in the reverse order you took it apart. When you use it, the large circular "Xbox" button in the center of the controller will now light up blue instead of green. This is even more impressive if you have a custom blue-painted controller.
