How to Download Maps to an Xbox 360 Memory Card

Microsoft's Xbox 360 video game console allows users to go online and enjoy online gameplay, as well as make downloads from the Xbox Live Marketplace. The Xbox Live Marketplace extends the shelf life of many Xbox 360 video games by providing game add-ons, such as new in-game and online multiplayer maps, available for download for users who have an Xbox 360 storage device, like a hard drive or memory unit. A user must have enough storage space to be able to buy and/or download new maps or map packs

Instructions

  Plug your Xbox 360 memory unit into one of the two memory unit ports on the front of your Xbox 360.

  Turn on your Xbox 360.

  Push the Guide button on your Xbox 360 controller, then select the "Sign In" option at the Guide window. Choose your gamer profile to access Xbox Live Marketplace.

  Scroll to the left on the Guide window until you find the Marketplace tab.

  Select the "Game Marketplace" option, then the "Game Add-ons" option.

  Scroll through "New Arrivals," "Top Rated" or "All Game Add-ons" to browse through the various video game titles available in the Game Marketplace. The "All Game Add-ons" option allows you to browse alphabetically or by genre.

  Select a video game from the list and scroll over to the "Featured Downloads" to search through the list of downloadable maps and map packs available for that game. Some maps and map packs are free to download, but many must be purchased with Microsoft Points.

  Select a map or map pack to download, then select the "Confirm Download" option to purchase this item. If you have more than one storage device plugged into your Xbox 360, select the "Change Storage Device" option first, then switch the download destination to the memory unit. Your map or map pack will download to the memory unit.
