How to Copy MPEGs to an Xbox 360

The Xbox 360 can be used to play a MPEG video files from the native Xbox 360 hard drive or an external storage device (such as a USB flash drive). When multiple drives are connected, you can transfer or copy content (including video) from one drive to another. MPEG, WMV and AVI video formats are supported. Unlike USB flash drives, MPEG files from data/audio disc or the Zune cannot be copied directly to an Xbox hard drive.

Instructions

    • 1

Connect the USB flash drive to any available USB port on the Xbox.

    • 2

Turn on the Xbox. Select the "My Xbox" tab, "System Settings" and "Memory" in that order. A list of hard drives and similar devices will be listed. Select the USB flash drive that you have connected.

    • 3

Select "Videos" and the MPEG video that you want to copy. Select "Copy" and the hard drive you want to copy the MPEG file to. Do this until you have copied all of the MPEGs onto the appropriate hard drive.
