How to Get Microsoft Points With a Prepaid Debit Card

Microsoft Points can be purchased using prepaid debit cards by one of three methods.The traditional way of purchasing Microsoft Points is by purchasing a Points card at your local electronics store. The Points card will contain a code you can redeem on your Xbox 360 console. The second method is simply an online purchase by logging into your Xbox live account on Xboxlive.com. The third method allows the user to purchase Microsoft points on their Xbox 360 consoles using the Xbox points menu in the console marketplace.

  Open your Internet browser, and go to Xbox.com.

  Click the "Sign in" button located on the top right of the webpage. Input your Xbox Live email and password.

  Click the "Marketplace" button located on the top right of the web page.

  Click the "Add" button located to the right of the "Points Balance" heading.

  Click the desired Microsoft Points amount, then click "Next."

  Click the "Add a new credit card" button.

  Input the credit card number found on the front of the card. In the "security code" heading, input the code found normally on the back of the card. Select which type of debit card you are using (Visa, MasterCard, AMEX).

  Input your address and name information. Click the "next" button.

  Click "Confirm" to confirm the purchase. The total will be deduted from your prepaid debit card and the Microsoft Points will appear instantly on your Xbox Live account.

  Purchase a "Points Card." A prepaid debit card will ring up at the register just like any other credit or debit card.
