How to Save Games to the XBox 360

The Xbox 360's hard drive has numerous convenient features, including the ability to attach and remove from any console to take your game and media data on the go. Another useful feature is the ability to save games to the hard drive--not just game progress checkpoints. Your console can save wear and tear on its game disc drive when it reads the games you've saved straight from the hard drive instead of the disc.

Instructions

    • 1

Place the Xbox 360 game disc into the DVD drive and close it.

    • 2

Go to the console's dashboard and scroll to the "My Xbox" section.

    • 3

Scroll right until you reach the "Game Library" section and press "A." This opens a list of your recent games.

    • 4

Select the game that is inserted in your DVD drive from the list. This will open the "Game Details" page.

    • 5

Scroll down to "Install to hard drive" and press "A." A progress bar will immediately appear on the screen showing you what percentage of the saving process is complete.

    • 6

Finish saving the game by pressing the "A" button when the installation is 100 percent complete.
