How to Check Hotmail on an Xbox

Released in 2005, Microsoft's Xbox 360 system vastly expanded the world of console gaming. However, one of the minor downfalls to the console compared to its competition is the lack of an in-system web browser. Now, thanks to a plug-in from software designer Anthony N. Park, web browsing is possible on the Xbox 360 through the use of Windows Media Center. This application may be used on a vast array of web pages, including web-based e-mail services such as Windows Live Hotmail.

PC with Windows OS
Xbox Live account
Windows Media Center
Broadband or Wi-Fi internet connection

Instructions

  Configure Windows Media Center for sharing with the Xbox 360 console by going to www.xbox.com/pcsetup from your PC and entering the code given on your Xbox.

  Visit http://www.anpark.com/software.aspx from your PC's web browser.

  Download and install MCE browser 2.2 to your computer.

  Access the media blade on the Xbox and select "Windows Media Center."

  Select the "Online Media" option from the menu.

  Open the program library and select "Windows Media Browser."

  Select "Enter URL" and enter the web address for Hotmail.

  Using the down button on the D-pad to navigate the webpage, enter your credentials and select "Sign In."
