How to Connect XBox Controls to the PC

The Xbox 360 is backward compatible with Windows-based PCs in a number of ways, including media streaming and network bridging. Even most official Xbox 360 accessories work on PCs, such as the Xbox LIVE Vision Camera or controller. The Xbox 360 has two types of controllers: wired and wireless. While wired controllers require no additional purchases to work with PCs, wireless controllers must use an Xbox 360 wireless gaming receiver.
