How to Reformat an Xbox Hard Drive

There are three different ways to save data on the Xbox 360--a memory unit, USB flash drive or hard drive. The hard drive is the largest storage device, with sizes varying from 20 GB to 250 GB depending on the model. The hard drive comes with all of the usual console features, such as the ability to delete and save data as well as reformat. There are a few reasons why a user would want to reformat the Xbox 360's hard drive, including if they plan to sell the device or if the drive experiences any errors.

Instructions

Connect the hard drive to the Xbox 360, if necessary. You can reformat it from any console.
