How to Make a Turbo Controller for the Xbox 360

Many first-person shooter video games feature single-shot weapons that boast impressive damage but slow firing rates. In many enemy encounters, the speed of your trigger finger can mean the difference between victory and defeat. While other turbo controller modifications require voiding your controller's warranty and complicated soldering, this method is cheap and reversible.

Instructions

    • 1

Use scissors to cut a strip of gaffers tape measuring 3/4-inch by 2 inches.

    • 2

Place the paperclip along the right trigger. Position one end of the paper clip at the top edge of the finger rest.

    • 3

Secure the paperclip to the trigger with the gaffers tape. The long edges of the tape should run across the paperclip horizontally and mold to the surface contours of the controller. You want the paperclip to be attached as tightly as possible without activating the trigger prematurely.

    • 4

Boot up a game on your Xbox 360 and start a private match or enter single player, if available. Your goal is to try out your modded controller without getting shot by online opponents.

Practice your firing technique. Place your middle fingertip of your right hand at the bottom end of the paper clip and your pointer fingertip just above. Alternate pressing the paper clip with either fingertip in a scissoring motion and slowly work up speed. With practice, you will be able to fire twice as fast as usual.
