How to Use an Xbox Vision Camera on a Computer

Microsoft extended the Xbox 360's media and online interactivity possibilities by releasing the Xbox LIVE Vision Camera in 2006. With the camera's release came a slew of new Xbox LIVE features, such as the ability to video chat, send pictures and even broadcast your image during a game, such as in "Uno" or "Texas Hold 'Em." Like other Xbox 360 accessories before it, the Vision Camera is also backward compatible with Windows-based PCs such as Windows XP.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on your Windows XP PC and wait for it to fully boot.

    • 2

Plug the Xbox LIVE Vision Camera's USB power cord into a powered USB port on the computer. After a few moments, a message will appear in the taskbar asking you to launch the "Found New Hardware Wizard."

    • 3

Click the message in the taskbar to launch the "Found New Hardware Wizard."

    • 4

Follow the steps in the wizard to download the required drivers for the Xbox LIVE Vision Camera. Choose the "Automatic" option when prompted to select a download method. After that, the computer will automatically download the required drivers and the camera will be ready for use.
