How to Use XBox Locking & Unlocking Tools

The Xbox 360 is unlike many of the other seventh-generation consoles in at least one respect: There are tools available (collectively known as an Xbox Security Kit) that will allow you to physically lock your Xbox, just like locking your car or your bike. The purpose of the kit is to bind your Xbox to a much larger and heavier object, thus making it more difficult to steal. This will ensure that your Xbox is protected from potential thieves.

  Secure the steel plates in your security kit to the side of the Xbox that holds the DVD drive. You can do this by placing the plates flat on the Xbox's side, and inserting the small steel spikes into the holes on either side of the console.

  Place the steel collar that comes with your kit on the steel plates to bind them together.

  Secure the cable that comes with your kit to any stationary object. Make sure this object cannot be easily moved.

  Run the cable through the hole in the steel plates, and place the padlock that comes with your security kit in the loop at the end of the cable.

  Use the key that comes with your security kit to lock the padlock. Your Xbox 360 should now be safely secured.
