Instructions
Click the tab to remove and set aside the battery compartment on the underside of the controller. Remove all seven screws that hold the shell together (three are on each side of the battery compartment with one underneath). You may have to use the flathead screwdriver to pry the tape from the final screw.
Tape all four colored buttons to the controller face (this keeps the buttons from shifting), and gently pry the controller's shells open. Remove the small rubber plate from underneath the buttons and discard.
Remove each thumbstick and set aside. Find the small dark circular three pronged patch above the disc-shaped rumble pack on the right side of the open controller: the first soldering point is a small zigzag shaped silver line. A small silver point just above a similar circle near on the left side of the controller will serve as the second soldering point.
Cut 4 inches of ribbon wire. Cut the center point between the wires and gently pull the two different colored wires apart. Crimp the ends of each wire about a quarter inch to expose fresh wire. Thread the end of one exposed wire through one of the prong holes on the bottom of the push button and coil it around the prong. Do the same for the other wire.
Pry the control board out of the bottom part of the controller's shell. Select the area on the controller where you'd like the push button to be placed (a matter of preference). Drill a hole on the controller's top shell as an attachment point for the push button.
Solder the remaining exposed end to the first soldering point, then solder the end of the other wire onto the second soldering point. Allow the newly soldered joints to cool for at least an hour, then reassemble the control in the reverse order in which you took it apart and replace the battery compartment.
