Check Your Outlet
Unplug the power supply from any surge protectors.
Plug the AC adapter directly into a wall outlet.
Make sure the AC adapter is completely plugged into the back of the Xbox 360 console.
Check the wall outlet to make sure the connection is not wiggly or loose.
Turn on the Xbox 360 to check whether the power supply is working. Use a different electrical device to test the wall outlet for power if the Xbox 360 is still not working.
Try Different Outlet
Unplug the Xbox 360 AC adapter from the back of the console.
Unplug the AC adapter from the wall outlet.
Find a different wall outlet to use with the console and plug in the AC adapter.
Plug the adapter into the Xbox 360.
Turn on your Xbox 360 console to see if it's working.
Let Adapter Cool
Unplug the AC adapter from the back of your Xbox 360 console.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Allow the AC adapter to sit on a cooled surface for two hours. This could be a basement or on top of an air conditioning vent.
Reconnect the power supply to the Xbox 360 console after two hours and connect the power cord to your wall outlet.
Turn on the Xbox 360 to see if it is working properly.
Let Xbox Rest
Unplug your AC adapter from the back of the Xbox 360 console.
Unplug your AC adapter from the wall outlet.
Let the Xbox 360 rest for 10 minutes.
Replug the adapter and test the power again.
