Look on the back of the Xbox and locate the sticker that contains the serial number, the manufacturing date and the product ID of the Xbox.
Examine the factory code̵2;the last two digits of the serial number. If the last two digits are "03"̵2;which means the Xbox was manufactured in Hungary̵2;you have a version 1.0 Xbox. If the last two digits are "02"̵2;Mexico̵2;and the Xbox was manufactured before November 2002, it is version 1.1; otherwise, it is version 1.2. With "05"̵2;China̵2;it will be at least a version 1.1, and with "06"̵2;Taiwan̵2;it will be at least a 1.3.
Examine the product line bar̵2;the next string of numbers after the serial number̵2;to determine exactly when your Xbox was manufactured. The first digit in the second block of numbers is the year in which it was manufactured, and the next two digits are the week of the year. So "1111111 41033" would mean the console was manufactured in the tenth week of 2004.
Compare the date of the Xbox's manufacture to the table provided in the "References" section to determine the version number of your Xbox.
