Turn on your Xbox 360 console.
Create a profile if you are a new user by pushing the "Guide" button found between the "Start" and "Select" buttons on your Xbox 360 controller.
Select the "Create Profile" option. A keypad window will open.
Choose a profile name and type it in. When you are finished, push the "Start" button to save it to your memory unit.
Insert an Xbox 360 video game into your system.
Play the game as much as you want and choose the save option whenever you are prompted. Many Xbox 360 video games will save game progress manually.
Unplug the memory unit when you are done playing and your Xbox 360 is turned off. All of your profile's saved game data now can be transported and used on any Xbox 360.
