How to Connect an Xbox 360 to a Wireless Microphone

The Xbox 360 has dozens of accessories, including a remote controller for the DVD player, wireless headset or 120 GB hard drive. Another is the wireless microphone, which you can use to sing with games such as Rock Band or Guitar Hero: World Tour. Microsoft, the Xbox 360 developer, created a uniform way of connecting official wireless devices to the console, so hooking up your wireless microphone is a nearly identical to connecting your wireless controller.

  Power your microphone by inserting two AA batteries. Unscrew the head of the microphone, remove the battery cover, insert the batteries, then reinstall the battery cover and microphone head.

  Power on your Xbox 360.

  Turn on your Xbox 360 wireless microphone by holding the power button for a few seconds until the button begins flashing. The power button is on the bottom of the microphone.

  Put the wireless microphone into connect mode by holding the power button again until the lights start flashing rapidly. The lights will not stop until the device is connected to the Xbox 360.

  Put your Xbox 360 into connect mode by pressing the connect button on the front of the console. The Xbox 360 will automatically connect to the wireless microphone. The process completes when the wireless microphone's lights stop flashing and the Xbox 360 power button flashes.
