How to Install Xbox Live Wireless

Installing a wireless connection on your Xbox 360 requires a network adapter, which plugs into a USB port on your console. Microsoft sells two wireless adapters, which configure identically. Once installed, the adapter is set up and connected to a wireless network through the dashboard's "Network Settings" menu.

Instructions

    • 1

Plug your adapter into the USB port situated on the back of the console above the audio video ports.

    • 2

Mount the adapter to the console. Notice the two slots to the left and right of the console information, just above the audio video ports. The adapter is mounted by plugging its two tabs into these slots.

    • 3

Extend the adapter's antennae. Extending the antennae is important because it increases signal strength.

    • 4

Turn on your console and open its dashboard.

    • 5

Open "System Settings," which is in the "My Xbox" section. This opens a new menu.

    • 6

Open "Network Settings." Choose "Configure Network" from the resulting menu.

    • 7

      Select "Wireless Mode."

    • 8

Select "Scan for networks." Your adapter will search the area for wireless networks in range.

    • 9

Select your network from the list and enter its pass code.
