How to Build a Two-Story House on Minecraft on Xbox

Start a new game of "Minecraft" on your Xbox 360 or load one of your previously saved games.

Move towards a tree using the left analog stick and then hold down the right trigger button to chop down the tree and collect the wood.

Collect six pieces of wood and then press "X" to open the crafting screen. Highlight "Wood Planks" and then press "A" to craft this item. Highlight "Stick" and then press "A" to craft this item.

Highlight "Crafting Table" and then press "A" to craft this item.

Select the crafting table from your inventory and then press the left trigger button to place it on the ground.

Stand in front of the crafting table and press "X" to access the crafting menu. You will notice that you now have more crafting options available.

Press the right shoulder button to open the "Tools and Weapons" crafting tab. Highlight "Wooden Axe" and press "A" to craft this tool. The axe will make chopping down trees much easier than using your hands.

Collect 200 pieces of wood from chopping down trees. You will have to chop down about 50 trees to gather this much wood.

Select the wood from your inventory, then move to the area where you want to build the house. Look at the ground using the right analog stick, then press the left analog trigger to place the block of wood.

Place the wood in a seven by seven square on the ground to form the basic outline of your house. Press the "A" button to jump onto the wood, then place two more rows of wood on top of the existing outline to create the walls of the house.

Jump down to the floor of the house and stand in one of the corners. Place one block of wood directly in front of you. Stack two sets of two blocks on top of each other behind the first block and then three blocks on top of each other behind these to create the stairs up to the next level.

Walk up the stairs and then place your wood blocks to create the floor for the second level of the house. Leave a gap above the stairs to enable your character to walk up and access the second level of the house.

Create the walls for the second level of the house in the same manner as you did for the first level.

Use the right analog stick to look up and then place the blocks to create the roof of the house. Use your axe to break open one-block holes in the walls of the second level of the house to serve as windows. This will let in light and enable you to shoot at outside enemies after you have crafted a bow and arrow.

Stand in front of your crafting table and press "X" to access the crafting menu. Press right on the "Structures" tab until you reach the Wooden Door. Press the "A "button to craft the wooden door for your house.

Select the door from your inventory and press the left trigger button to place it in the gap that you created. Your house is now complete and can be decorated further with crafted items.
