How to Transfer Minecraft to Another Xbox

When you own a game on Xbox 360, you own it on every console you use, because you can download games multiple times from the online Xbox store. To transfer your saved "Minecraft" worlds to another Xbox, use the online cloud storage that's available for Xbox Live users. You can access it from any Internet-connected Xbox Live console, which means that you can open your game on different machines.

Instructions

    • 1

Sign in to your profile on your original Xbox 360. Your purchases and cloud saves are tied to your gamertag.

    • 2

Press the right bumper on your controller to move to Settings on the Xbox 360 home screen. Move down to System, and then press "A."

    • 3

Scroll to Storage, and then press "A." Click "Hard Drive," and then click "Games and Apps."

    • 4

Scroll to "Minecraft," and then press "A." Move to the game world you want to transfer -- the saves are all listed by the name of the world. Press "A."

    • 5

Select "Move," and then click "Cloud Saved Games." The transfer begins; you can monitor its progress with the status bar on the screen.

    • 6

Sign in to your profile on the other Xbox. Move the bumper to Games, and then click "Search Games." Type "Minecraft" into the search bar, and then select "Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition" from the drop-down menu.

    • 7

Click "Minecraft," and then click "Play Now." If you haven't downloaded the game on the new console, click "Download Now" to get it from the store. It's free as long as your gamertag owns the game. Start the game after the download completes.

    • 8

Click "Set Up Cloud Storage," if prompted, and then click "Yes." Select "Enable," press "B" to return to the home screen, and then restart "Minecraft." This step isn't necessary if cloud storage is already active on the console.

    • 9

Wait for your console to download the cloud saves. The status bar displays until the saves are transferred successfully. Select "Play Game," and then select "Cloud Saved Games." Your saved cloud worlds appear in your list of worlds on the "Minecraft" menu.
