How to Find Diamonds in Minecraft for Xbox

As the name implies, "Minecraft" for the Xbox 360 is a game primarily about mining. As you mine deeper into the earth, you will find better resources and gems, such as diamonds. The second rarest mineral in the game, you create diamonds by smelting diamond ore, which is then used in the creation of powerful tools, weapons and armor. The exact location of diamond ore will differ for every player due to the method Minecraft uses to randomize each player's world, but you can always find it in the same general area.

  Craft an iron pickaxe using two sticks and three pieces of iron ore. You must have an iron pickaxe to mine diamond.

  Choose any spot in the world and dig until you reach bedrock, which is the deepest layer of the world. Diamond ore is only found in the deepest layers of a Minecraft world.

  Mine until you find lava, as diamond ore has a higher chance of appearing near pools of lava. You can tell diamond ore from regular ore by the flecks of blue that appears amid the gray stone.

  Use the iron pickaxe to mine the diamond ore. Each diamond ore block gives one piece of diamond ore.

  Place the diamond ore in any furnace along with one piece of coal to produce diamond.
